A Storage Box is an external 12-drives chassis that can be attached via a SAS cable to any server equipped with a RAID Controller for Storage Boxes. The hard-drives are seen by the server’s BIOS as any other internal drive and can be configured in RAID 0, 1, 10, 5, 50 or 60. Up to 4 storage boxes can be connected to a single server. We deliver storage boxes with inexpensive archive-class SATA HDD to store the data and rarely access it, or enterprise-capacity SATA/SAS drives for reliable read/write access. Storage boxes are ideal to store large amounts of data, but limitations of disk technology make them unsuitable for intensive random read operations.
